Alejandro Jaramillo

Alejandro is the founder and conceptual engineer of the NOMAD Project.

He graduated in 2009 from the UCR in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis on Structures, Construction, and Environmental Design. Speaker at the international conferences of the World Forum of Engineering Organizations in Kuwait (2009) and Buenos Aires, Argentina (2010) to present his Final Project of Graduation: Production of hydrogen with methane emitted by organic waste.

In 2011 he obtained a Master’s in Business Administration extended by ESEUNE (Bilbao, Spain), with complementary studies carried out at the North China University of Technology (Beijing, China) and Georgetown University (Washington DC, USA).

With extensive experience in public infrastructure projects for his work at ICE, MOPT (emphasis on the Maritime Port Division, and the Vice Ministry of Air Transport and Maritime Ports), and CORBANA; He also has extensive knowledge in the field of solar energy due to his career in the private sector in that field as an analyst and project developer.

He is an active member of ACESOLAR since 2015 and was a part of its board of directors for two consecutive periods (2016 and 2017). He is also an active member of PAMEC since 2019.

Manuel Campos

Manuel is the Biological Project Manager of the NOMAD Project.

He graduated from the UCR in Biology in 1994 and later obtained his Academic Master’s in Biology in 1997 at the UCR. Then in 2003, he received a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Costa Rica.

He is currently in a doctoral program in Administration Sciences at the State Distance University. Professor at the UCR for more than 21 years, he is strongly linked to green-blue biotechnology, with microalgae projects (bioremediation and energy production).

He teaches courses where he intends to instill in students’ projects oriented towards the bioeconomy and green growth. In his liberal practice, he has been a consultant and has extensive experience in Continuing Education.

He also works in the private sector in the areas of finance and internal company management.

Mario Rodríguez

Mario is NOMAD’s Information Technology Manager. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Information Technology for Business Management in 2015 and is currently studying as an advanced student in Business Administration at Universidad Latina.

Mario has also developed several ventures in the fields of tourism and computing and demonstrates exceptional knowledge in project planning, programming, and digital marketing.

Diana Berthelon

Diana is a researcher at NOMAD in the areas of conservation and development of hydroponics technologies. As a biology graduate at the University of Costa Rica, she holds an emphasis on ecology and special interest in medicinal plants. She also has work experience in the fields of tourism and hospitality.  
 
While taking her studies in Europe, Diana also participated in chemical ecology projects in collaboration with the University of Ulm in Germany.
